"Plasma Pen - Plexer" treatment using plasma (the fourth state of matter), causes skin sublimation and local destruction of wrinkles, visible in just a few days.
As you have seen, there are many different antiaging treatments that can be used in Aesthetic Medicine to treat wrinkles and offer overall face renewal. Treatments are chosen based on the needs and wishes of each person, as well as the overall condition of their skin. The combination of targeted wrinkle treatments, alongside with treatments for total facial renewal offers the most incredible results.
These are injectable treatments that are applied specifically to the areas that have wrinkles, with the aim of smoothing them.
Botox is an active treatment used to relax specific muscles in the face. The application of Botox can inhibit the intense movement of the muscles, preventing the creation of dynamic wrinkles. It is ideal for treating expression lines on the forehead, mid-frown and crow's feet.
In addition, Botox can be used as a wrinkle prevention treatment, known as "Baby Botox". In this case, the goal is to prevent the appearance of future wrinkles, from repeated muscle movements.
Hyaluronic acid is an active treatment used both to fill deep, static wrinkles and to add volume to various parts of the face. It is ideal for treating nasolabial wrinkles in the lower part of the face, but also for fine wrinkles in various parts of the face and neck
It can also be used to enhance volume in the cheekbones, lips and chin. Hyaluronic acid treatment is the only treatment whose effect is immediately visible and once the treatment is complete, you will be able to see the results in the mirror!
The Plasma Pen - Plexer works by ionizing the air particles, between the device’s headpiece and the epidermis, to form the plasma energy (fourth state of matter), which in turn causes the skin to sublimate.
Therefore, its effects are instantaneous, with immediate contraction of the tissue, which activates the processes of skin injury and "awakens" the fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, thus contributing to the disappearance of scars and tightening of the skin, in points where the device was applied.
Total facial rejuvenation treatments are holistic treatments aimed at improving the texture, tone and appearance of the skin on the face.
Heterologous facial mesotherapy transfers to the dermis, the "middle layer" of the skin (from which the mesotherapy got its name), a unique cocktail of nutrients, such as hyaluronic, vitamins, peptides and amino acids and to a depth that no cream can reach.
Autologous mesotherapy is a treatment based on the use of your own blood and growth factors for cellular renewal of the skin. It is commonly referred to as "Vampire Facial" or "Vampire Facelift" and is considered completely safe as it uses the patient's own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
Fractional Laser treatment is a popular method of Laser skin resurfacing that can be used to treat many skin problems including wrinkles, fine lines, blemishes and acne scars.
The Dermapen is a device that resembles a pen, which manages to "turn off" the signs of time, wrinkles, stretch marks and scars, rewriting the history of your skin and rejuvenating your skin.
Threads are essentially absorbable surgical sutures, just like those used in Plastic Surgery, so their safety is given and well documented. The threads are placed under the skin, with the aim of immediately treating wrinkles and lifting and tightening loose skin.
Forehead wrinkles, also known as surprise wrinkles, appear on the upper part of the face. These wrinkles usually appear when the eyebrows are raised when expressing surprise, worry or other similar emotions. They are horizontal wrinkles and are the result of the contraction of the frontal muscles. They can appear even from the age of 20 in very expressive people.
Best Treatment: Botox & Hyaluronic Skinbooster
Mid-brow wrinkles, also known as frown lines, are dynamic wrinkles that appear between the eyebrows when frowning and expressing anger. These wrinkles are also called "11 wrinkles" due to the fact that their shape resembles the number 11. These wrinkles are a result of daily facial expressions and can be particularly pronounced in men.
Best Treatment: Botox & Hyaluronic Skinbooster
Wrinkles around the eyes, also known as "crow's feet" are fine lines that appear in the area around the eyes and can be especially noticeable when expressing joy and laughter. Eye wrinkles are initially dynamic wrinkles that appear during expressions only, but gradually over time they turn into static and permanent wrinkles, as the skin around the eye area is particularly thin.
Best Treatment: Botox & Hyaluronic Skinbooster
Fine lines around the eyes, both on the upper and lower eyelids, are small lines that appear in the area of eyelids. Initially, these wrinkles are dynamic and they appear when expressing joy, laughing or when trying to half-close the eyes.
However, over time and as the skin around the eye area is particularly thin, it loses its elasticity, which leads to the transformation of these wrinkles from dynamic to static and thus these wrinkles become visible, even when there is no expression.
Best Treatment: Fractional Laser & Hyaluronic Skinbooster
Tear trough wrinkles are the deep furrows that form under the eyes and run from the inner corner of the eye down to the cheek. These lines can cause a sad or tired look to the face and are due to the receding fat and bone changes that occur in the area under the eyes, as we age. The best way to treat them is with hyaluronic acid filler and the microcannula technique.
Best Treatment: Hyaluronic Filler
Nasal lines are wrinkles that appear on the sides of the bridge of the nose when we laugh. They are called "Bunny Lines" because their formation resembles the characteristic folds on the nose of rabbits. These wrinkles are a result of the normal movement of the nasal muscles and can be especially visible when expressing joy or laughter.

Perioral wrinkles are fine vertical wrinkles that form in the area between the nose and lips. These wrinkles may be more visible during expression, such as when we smile and when we purse our lips, for example when smoking. For this reason, they are also referred to as "smoker's wrinkles".
Perioral wrinkles are initially dynamic wrinkles and appear only in expressions, but gradually become static, as the skin around the lips begins to thin and break, due to the normal ageing process.
Best Treatment: Hyaluronic Skinbooster & Chemical Peel
Nasolabial wrinkles are wrinkles that start at the sides of the nose and go down the mouth. These wrinkles are initially dynamic wrinkles and appear only in expressions (eg when laughing), but gradually they become static and permanent wrinkles that look like brackets around the mouth.
Best Treatment: Hyaluronic Filler
Grief lines also known as "Marionette Lines," are fine furrows that start at the outer corners of the lips and run vertically down towards the chin. These wrinkles can give a sad look to the face when the face is in an expressionless state, that’s why they are also called "sadness wrinkles".
Best Treatment: Hyaluronic Filler & Threads
Chin wrinkles can be a result of the gradual loss of collagen and volume in the chin area, as well as pursuing the lip area. Chin wrinkles are referred to as "Peau d' Orange" which is a French term that describes the appearance of dimpled skin, like an orange peel. The "Peau d'Orange" appearance of the chin can be improved, by injecting Botox into the chin muscles responsible for creating this dimpled appearance.
Best Treatment: Βotox
Wrinkles on the neck usually appear due to ageing and constant exposure of the neck to the sun, but also due to the daily movement of the head downwards. Constant bending of the neck for long periods of time, such as when looking at a computer or mobile’s screen, can lead to the formation of horizontal neck wrinkles, known as "tech neck" wrinkles.
Also on the neck there are "cords" that start under the chin and extend vertically towards the neck, which are called platysma bands and are due to the clenching of the teeth.
Best Treatment: Hyaluronic Skinbooster & Botox
Human skin has three main layers: the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue. The changes that occur in these three layers over the years are responsible for the signs of skin ageing.
The epidermis is the first layer of the skin and is the first shield of our body against the external environment. The main structural component of the epidermis is keratin, which gives the skin its durability and thickness, protecting it from external attacks.
Keratin is also responsible for retaining moisture in the skin, keeping it moist. Dead cells, which are part of the skin's normal renewal process, are found in the epidermis, as well as melanocytes, which produce melanin, the pigment that gives the skin its colour.
Below the epidermis is the thickest layer of the dermis, which is the second layer of the skin. In this layer of skin, there are the sensory nerves that convey the sense of touch, pressure, temperature and pain and allow us to perceive the environmental triggers and react accordingly. The dermis also contains the lipids that help maintain the skin's moisture, but also the blood vessels that supply the skin with the necessary nutrients.
However, the most basic structural component of dermis is collagen and elastin. Collagen occupies 80% of the dermis and provides skin with strength and stability, while elastin gives it elasticity and the ability to return to its original shape.
Subcutaneous tissue lies underneath the dermis and contains fat. The main role of subcutaneous tissue is fat storage, thermal insulation and protection of internal organs. The fat contained in the subcutaneous tissue plays an important role in maintaining the youthful appearance of the skin. As we age, the fat in the subcutaneous tissue gradually decreases, which leads to a loss of volume in the face and sagging of the skin.
Endogenous vd Exogenous Ageing
The creation and development of wrinkles is influenced not only by heredity and genetic predisposition (endogenous ageing), but also by many exogenous factors (exogenous ageing). External factors can aggravate or on the contrary, prevent the formation of wrinkles, depending on the care and daily habits of each person.
Intrinsic ageing or age-related ageing refers to the normal ageing process that occurs in the human body, as part of the normal biological cycle. It is how our body ages over time and it affects all our organs. Intrinsic ageing varies from person to person, based on heredity and whether each of us has good or bad genes.
It is completely normal to notice small changes in the skin after the age of 20. Wrinkles that appear in this decade are usually fine lines that result from a decrease in collagen and elastin production. Additional factors such as sunlight, smoking, poor diet and lack of sleep can also accelerate the skin ageing process.
After the age of 20, the body begins to produce 1% less collagen each year. Also in this decade, the rate of exfoliation also decreases, causing dead skin cells to accumulate over a longer period of time, dulling the appearance of the skin.
Changes in the skin are now more visible. The skin begins to lose its ability to retain moisture, as its lipids begin to decrease and this can lead to dryness and a dull appearance. Wrinkles also become more visible, especially in areas with thin skin, such as crow's feet and eyelids.
Other factors that contribute to these changes include a decrease in the production of sebum from the sebaceous glands. The sebum provides natural lubrication and protection to the skin, thus its decrease, results in the skin gradually becoming dry and breaking more easily.
At 40, wrinkles become more visible, especially on the forehead and between the brows, but also in the nasolabial folds, as the production of collagen and elastin is minimized.
Skin cell renewal slows down and normal skin regeneration becomes more difficult, resulting in the appearance of fine wrinkles and discolorations, after each summer season, which were not easily appeared before.
At 50+ years, rapid loss of subcutaneous fat and thinning of the skin become more apparent. Especially the decline in oestrogen after menopause in women, contributes to the worsening of skin’s condition, as these hormones contribute to skin health and collagen production.
Loose skin becomes more apparent and blemishes and discolorations can be even more pronounced.
Exogenous ageing refers to changes in the skin caused by external factors. These factors can have a significant effect on the skin and cause or prevent the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of ageing.
Exposure to the sun is responsible for 80% of the ageing of the skin and consequently its laxity. Ultraviolet radiation penetrates the dermis and causes the destruction of collagen and elastin. That’s why skin laxity first appears on the face, which is the most sun exposed area.
But the body also follows, in loose skin, especially if sunbathing and solariums are your favourites every summer.
E.g. when you smile, two folds form at the corners of the mouth, like brackets called nasolabial folds. Laughter also causes crow's feet wrinkles on the side of the eyes.
And while laugh lines may look good on your skin, there are other expression lines that aren't so welcome (e.g. sadness with marionettes lines, anger with frown lines).
The effects of smoking on the health of the skin are multiple and are mainly due to the toxic substances contained in cigarette smoke, which contribute to loose skin and accelerate ageing. In particular, smoking causes the destruction of collagen and elastin, which are necessary for the support and elasticity of the skin.
Cigarette smoke can also restrict blood flow to the skin, reducing the supply of oxygen and nutrients. This can cause dehydration and dryness of the skin, which further aggravates the wrinkling.
Pollutants and toxins contained in atmospheric pollution can cause many problems for our skin. Our skin gets dirty every day from sweat, continuous sebum secretions, dead cells, make-up, sunblock creams, dust and micro-particles from atmospheric pollutants. And as you know something that is not visible, does not mean that it is not there.
We may not be able to distinguish with the naked eye the effects of everyday life’s atmospheric pollution, but this does not mean that they are not constantly present and silently and "insidiously" cause their wear and tear on our skin.
As the skin is daily "clogged" by all this, it does not breathe as it should, while at the same time its skin barrier is disrupted, as a result of which it looks tired and dull.
Dynamic VS Static
Dynamic wrinkles arise when the facial muscles contract during an expression and are temporary, as they disappear when the expression ends. However, with repeated expression and contraction of the same muscles in the same area of the face, dynamic wrinkles can become deeper and more prominent over time and this will lead to their transformation from dynamic to static.
The term "static wrinkles" is used to describe wrinkles that are visible on the skin, even when the face is at rest or without expression. These wrinkles are mainly formed due to the natural process of chronological ageing of the skin. Ageing causes the skin's production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to decrease.
These elements are important for the elasticity, firmness and moisture of the skin and so when they decrease, static wrinkles appear. At first, static wrinkles are subtle and go unnoticed, but over the years, they deepen and become established in the skin. These wrinkles can be more visible in areas such as the forehead, around the eyes and around the mouth.
Time and ageing does not stop, but it can be controlled!
Sunscreen:
You must wear sunscreen EVERY DAY. It doesn't matter how long you'll be outside or whether it's sunny or cloudy. Remember that the sun's UV rays can penetrate clouds, so don't be lazy when it's not sunny
Hydration:
Our skin must always be hydrated, because dehydration is an important cause of the formation of wrinkles in our skin. It is therefore necessary to use daily moisturising serums and creams based on hyaluronic acid on your face and neck.
Water:
Water helps the skin stay healthy and glowing, as it helps flush out toxins and free radicals. Hydration from the inside out is an important factor in keeping our skin healthy. We must consume at least 2 litres of water per day.
Quit smoking:
Smoking causes the destruction of collagen and elastin, which are necessary for the support and elasticity of the skin. Cigarette smoke can also restrict blood flow to the skin, reducing the supply of oxygen and nutrients. This can cause dehydration and dryness of the skin, which further aggravates skin ageing and sagging.
Sleep:
Try to sleep at least 7-8 hours every night after you have done your evening routine, removed your make-up and used your night creams. When the body rests, blood flow to the skin increases and cells are renewed.
Choose anti-ageing ingredients for your skincare routine:
Vitamin C, Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid and Fruit Acids (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are known to be miracle active ingredients that help greatly in anti-aging. Look for them in serums and creams and use them daily, morning and night.
Do frequently Chemical Peelings:
Chemical exfoliation with AHAs (mandelic, lactic, glycolic acid) or BHAs (salicylic acid) significantly helps the skin to bring out its glow. Some of its many benefits are boosting collagen production, eliminating blemishes and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. You can do them easily and economically in our Clinics every 2-3 months and combine them with Dermalux Phototherapy for even better results.
Invest in your skin and get anti-ageing beauty treatments often:
From the age of 30 and above, all of us should start taking care of our skin, both with daily skincare products, but also with medical anti-ageing treatments, which are carried out by Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons in our Clinics and which are proven to help the skin, act preventively and delay ageing by at least a decade.
Truth: There is no scientific evidence that someone with oily skin will not develop wrinkles. Certainly oily skin is more durable than a thin sensitive and dry skin, which breaks more easily. However over time, even skins that were once oily, gradually lose their lipids and thus they also need proper hydration and anti-wrinkle protection.
Truth: This is another myth. Even if we have inherited our family's "ageless" genes, but we are not careful and spend half our lives under the hot sun, without sun protection or smoke daily and don't take care of our skin, then the results will be disappointing. The external factors play an extremely important role in how quickly our skin will break, no matter how good genes we have.
Truth: The belief that we need to spend a fortune to buy the super anti-ageing cream that "does it all and works" is over. With the valuable know-how that all cosmetic companies now possess and based on scientific innovations, the budget-priced cosmetic products on the market are no less effective than their more expensive counterparts, as long as you use them daily.
Daily skincare is necessary, but it is not the only preventive mechanism for the appearance of wrinkles. And rather than spending a fortune on expensive creams with dubious results, it is better to spend that money on medical anti-ageing treatments with proven and excellent results.
Truth: Men's skin is 20-25% thicker than women's and this can slow down the appearance of the first wrinkles in men, but in the end how intense the wrinkles will become does not depend in no way on gender, but in skin exposure mainly to external ageing factors (exposure to the sun, smoking, atmospheric pollution, lack of sleep, stress, etc.), but also to the heredity and genetic predisposition that each of us has!
