One of the biggest trends in Plastic Surgery is Buttocks Augmentation or BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), which is done either non-surgically with Hyaluronic Acid or surgically with Lipotransfer. Buttocks Augmentation belongs to the Top 5 body aesthetic interventions, as there is no woman who does not want to have more rounded and lifted buttocks. Unfortunately, as we become older, our skin sags and this combined with the sedentary way of living for most of us and the lack of systematic exercise, is loosening our buttocks. The good news is that surgical liposuction and lipotransfer is no longer the only way to restore and augment the buttocks, as hyaluronic body fillers promise and deliver BBL in a completely painless way and with long-lasting natural results.

Buttocks Augmentation with Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most popular buttocks lifting treatments, as it is non-invasive, painless, with no recovery time and offers natural results of maximum duration.
Body Hyaluronic Acid is injected completely non-traumatically with a cannula into the buttocks area and gives volume, improves the shape of the buttocks and at the same time smoothes cellulite and the quality of the skin of the area, without leaving scars and marks.
Injectable hyaluronic acid is a highly hydrophilic molecule, which attracts and binds water molecules within the skin, causing swelling and plumping of the areas where it is placed. At the same time, it activates the process of internal natural hydration and enhances the preservation of freshness and firmness in the skin.
The composition of the injectable hyaluronic acid used in body treatments is absolutely identical and biocompatible with the hyaluronic acid present in our body. This similarity greatly facilitates the application, as well as the success of the treatment, as the body accepts an injectable material that is "familiar" to the body, thus eliminating the risk of allergic reactions.
Another important advantage of hyaluronic acid is its flexible composition, which is in gel form, thus allowing its equal distribution in the treated areas. At the same time, this facilitates the durability and stability of the material to any pressures on the buttocks area that happen in our daily life. This ensures that the shape of the buttocks (that will be created in the Clinic) will remain stable, without changes or alterations during the lifetime of the treatment.
If we analyse somatometrically the shape of the buttocks in women's bodies, then the most common shapes are four and they are as follows:
The most attractive shapes are the Round and the A shape. Over time, as we age a round shape can turn into a square or an inverted triangle. And this is precisely the purpose of buttock augmentation, either with lipotransfer or with hyaluronic acid, to transform the buttocks back into an A-shape or Round shape, where possible.
In the female body, the greatest importance in terms of shape is played by harmonious curves. The harmonious curves and balance of these curves in the female body, contributes significantly to the aesthetic appearance and the feeling of femininity. Buttocks, as an important part of the body shape, play a key role in these proportions. Regardless of whether you have big or small buttocks, femininity is found in the curves created by the buttocks in relation to the waist and thighs.
That’s why, in terms of the final result that we wish to achieve, the perfect ration in the glutes is the angle between the buttocks and the waist that needs to be 43 degrees and the ratio of the upper part to the lower part of the buttocks needs to be 1 to 1.61, which is the magic number Phi. These proportions are what we aim for in Buttocks Augmentation, in order for the Brazilian Buttocks Lift to have the ideal proportions.
The so-called Hip Dips are nothing more than body dimples, on the upper and outer side of the buttocks, that some women have and create an uneven effect on the body, giving the impression of a violin body.
These dimples on the buttocks appear for genetic reasons, but they are wonderfully corrected with BBL with hyaluronic acid, completely painless and economical, with a result that lasts from 1.5 to 2 years!
Another fantastic application of BBL with body hyaluronic acid, (which is also its side benefit), is the correction of cellulite dimples on the buttocks, which is done in a single session and with an immediate effect.
So for all of you, who leave everything for the last minute and want to achieve both lifting of the buttocks and elimination of your cellulite, before your summer holidays, this treatment will absolutely satisfy you, even at the last minute! Its result will last for 1.5 to 2 years!
First, your body is evaluated by the Doctor, in order to assess the degree of skin laxity and the existing shape of your buttocks. So together with the Doctor, you will discuss your expectations and needs from the treatment and at the same time the Doctor will inform you about the number of mls that will be used and at which points the hyaluronic will be applied.
After cleaning and disinfecting the skin, the Doctor marks the entry points of the injection cannula and applies local anaesthesia, so that the procedure is completely painless.
After a while, the treatment begins, which, depending on the extent of the area and the amount of hyaluronic that will be applied, will last from 20 to 30 minutes. For the placement of hyaluronic acid, special non-traumatic cannulas are used that make the procedure completely painless and eliminate the risk of bruising. By inserting the cannula into the skin and the subsequent placement of the hyaluronic acid at the correct anatomical depth, immediate filling and lifting is achieved.
At this step you are given detailed instructions by the Doctor and the number of mls and the placement areas are recorded in your medical file. Immediately after your treatment, the first result will be visible already. We say the first result, as for the following period of time, the hyaluronic will expand even more and show further improvement.
Before the treatment, it is advisable to avoid taking anticoagulants (such as aspirin) or anti-inflammatory preparations (such as Voltaren) for a week before your treatment, as these increase the risk of bleeding and therefore bruising.
Also avoid taking vitamins and multivitamin preparations, for at least one week before the treatment, as these are substances that increase the bleeding tendency and consequently the risk of bruising.
Also, avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours before starting treatment for the same reason.
Once the treatment is completed, a special antibiotic cream will be applied to the injection entry points to prevent infections. We also always recommend taking a prophylactic antibiotic for a few days after the procedure for the same reason.
It is possible that you will experience swelling and bruising in the area of application and in this case, we recommend the use of arnica cream, on a daily basis for 7 - 10 days, as well as the frequent use of an ice cold pack or other cold patches.
It is good to avoid using lotions or body moisturisers for the first 1-2 days, until the skin heals and the cannula entry points are completely closed.
Always after hyaluronic injections to the buttocks, we prescribe a broad-spectrum antibiotic, which you should take for 4-5 days, until the micro-openings through which the material was injected are healed, to avoid the risk of local infection
It is recommended to avoid intense physical exercise and especially exercises for buttocks such as squats for at least a week, so as not to spoil the distribution of the material, made by the Doctor.
For the same reason and for a few days, you should be very careful how you sit and how you sleep, so as not to spoil the distribution of the material. Prefer to sleep on your face and on your side and to sit on soft seats and not for long hours.
For the next few months after your Buttocks filler, you should avoid aesthetic body treatments, such as RF radiofrequencies, accompanied by therapeutic massage and heat in the treatment areas. If you wish to have some RF sessions, which do provide excellent buttock tightening results, then these should be done prior to your BBL with Hyaluronic.

Truth: Non-surgical BBL with hyaluronic acid can definitely volumize and improve the appearance of the buttocks, but may not achieve the same level of enhancement as a surgical BBL. This is of course subjective, as it also depends on the amount in mls that someone will inject. On the other hand surgical BBL involves the transfer of fat, is our own autologous material and we get it in any amount we want, at no extra cost. This allows us not to be stingy with the amount of injections and this can create a more significant change in the shape and size of the buttocks.
Truth: Non-surgical BBL with fillers offers temporary results. The hyaluronic acid fillers used in this procedure are gradually absorbed over the next 1.5 - 2 years by the body and therefore maintenance sessions are required to preserve the results. However, maintenance treatments always require a smaller amount of mls than originally used.
Truth: While non-surgical procedures generally have fewer risks compared to surgery, there are still potential risks associated with hyaluronic acid injections and care should be taken when choosing a Doctor who should have experience in the field. Potential risks may include skin contamination, allergic reactions, uneven results, or material migration if non-approved, poor quality materials are used.
One of the most common questions people ask about any treatment is whether it hurts. The application of BBL with hyaluronic acid is done in the Clinic without incisions and is very well tolerated and painless, as it is done with local anaesthesia only. During the following days, there may be a slight "pulling" sensation, which however lasts a maximum of 2-5 days and subsides with simple paracetamol.
The duration of the procedure depends on the total number of mls that will be used, the degree of increase we want, as well as whether this treatment will be combined with another aesthetic treatment in the same session, for example Body Threads. Usually the procedure lasts from 20 minutes to 30 minutes. That's why it's also called Lunch Time Body Lifting and you can immediately go back to your activities.
No, there is not much recovery time. One can literally go back to work on the same day of the placement of hyaluronic acid on the buttocks, which is what has made this aesthetic intervention so popular. A degree of swelling is expected in everyone, which is normal as hyaluronic is a hydrophilic molecule that “absorbs water to swell” and some people may experience some swelling or some “pulling” sensation which is completely normal. But all these are expected and temporary and last only a few days.
The result is visible immediately after the treatment and continues to improve for the next 2-3 months, as the hyaluronic acid absorbs water and swells and at the same time new collagen formation is achieved in the area of its placement.
The results of BBL with hyaluronic lasts an average of 1.5 to 2 years, depending on the rate at which our bodies metabolise the hyaluronic and the amount that was initially used. In particular, if BBL with hyaluronic is combined before and after the placement with other aesthetic medicine treatments, such as RF Radio Frequencies (before) and Body Threads (after), then the result will be more impressive and its duration longer.
You may be wondering if you will be able to return to the natural size and shape of your buttocks if you do not like the result of BBL Buttocks Augmentation. The answer is positive and the result is completely reversible with hyaluronidase injections, just as it is done with facial hyaluronic acids.
This depends on the number of mls you put in your initial treatment, but also on your expectations for maintaining the effect. Usually around 1 - 1.5 years is a good time to repeat your treatment. What is certain is that buttock augmentation with hyaluronic acid is a “Do as you See” treatment and if you start more cautiously, with a smaller amount at the beginning, you can always add more. If you wish you can add more, to the same or other areas of the buttocks, even before the time interval of one or two years, to gradually achieve the desired result.
Body Hyaluronic when placed correctly and by certified Doctors, is placed at the correct anatomical depth under the skin and is not at all visible and perceptible. Of course, the experience and technique of the Doctor plays an important role, as well as the use of certified quality hyaluronic acid. Unfortunately, we have encountered several times in our Clinics complications from the placement of hyaluronic acid by non-specialized Doctors or even by non-Doctors and for this reason we advise you to be especially careful where you go.
Yes. Immediately after BBL Buttocks Augmentation with hyaluronic acid injections you will be able to walk normally.
For a week it would be best to avoid exercise in general. In particular, exercises that target the buttocks, such as squats, should be avoided for about 4 weeks after the application of hyaluronic acid to the buttocks.
