Botox for Men

The most popular antiageing treatment for Men!

Botox has challenged the traditional belief that wrinkles on men are attractive and that only women need to worry about ageing. Over time, Botox has become a popular treatment among men, with even the most hesitant men repeating the treatment, after trying it once and the numbers prove it abundantly. There has been a 400% increase in the number of Brotox treatments over the last 20 years. This significant increase indicates a growing trend among men, towards non-invasive anti-aging treatments and a willingness to embrace cosmetic procedures to maintain a youthful appearance.

Look like a younger and more rested version of yourself!

What is Brotox?

Brotox is the male version of the well-known Botox, the #1 non-invasive antiageing treatment worldwide. The name comes from the combination of the words 'Brother' and 'Botox' to refer to the application of the treatment to men. It works by relaxing facial muscles using Botox neurotoxin, which helps to reduce the appearance of expression wrinkles and give a more youthful look. The muscles of the male face are typically stronger, more pronounced and contract more intensively, making Brotox an effective solution for men, who want to reduce the signs of ageing. The result is a natural and youthful appearance, while preserving facial expressiveness, but without the formation of those wrinkles that over time tend to deepen and become permanent on the skin.

Brotox Step by Step

Ραντεβού για Brotox Ανδρών
Step 1

Medical History - Skin Assessment

Before the treatment, there is always a medical consultation with the Doctors. At this appointment, the Doctors will assess the condition of your skin, the extent of your wrinkles and you will discuss with you, your concerns and your goal. Based on these, the appropriate treatment plan will be created, in order to achieve your desired results.
Step 2

Skin Preparation

Before the procedure, the Doctor will clean the area that will have the treatment and will apply a local anaesthetic cream, which will numb the area in order to reduce any discomfort, during the treatment.

Step 3

Skin Marking - Botox Application

In this step, the anaesthetic cream is first removed and the Doctor asks you to make a few expressions in order to observe the movement of your muscles. The Doctor will carefully inject the Botox into specific muscles of the face to relax them and prevent the formation of wrinkles.
Step 4

Post Botox Instructions

After the procedure, the Doctor will provide instructions on how to care the treated area, such as avoiding touching or massaging the treated area and avoiding alcohol and strenuous exercise for a certain period of time. The effects of Brotox will typically start to become visible within 5 to 7 days and can last anywhere from 4 to 6 months, depending on the individual’s strength of facial expressions.

Instructions before Brotox treatment

icon

Avoid taking anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. Mesulid, Brufen, Voltaren) and analgesics (e.g. aspirin) for at least one week before the treatment, as they increase the possibility of bleeding and therefore bruising, during the treatment.

icon

Also avoid taking vitamins and multivitamin preparations, for at least one week before the treatment, as these are substances that increase the bleeding tendency and consequently the risk of bruising.

icon

It would be best not to consume alcohol 24 hours before your treatment.

Instructions after Brotox treatment

icon

You can return to your activities immediately, as long as you do not touch the area, where the medicine was injected, for at least the first 4 hours.

icon

Avoid lying down for the first 4 hours after your Brotox treatment. This will prevent the Botox from moving into the eye area and causing complications such as brow drooping.

icon

It is good to avoid vigorous aerobic or heavy exercise or heavy lifting for the next 24 hours.

icon

Try to avoid hot showers and excessive sun exposure for the next 2 days.

icon

Avoid alcohol and aspirin for 1 day after your treatment.

icon

If you experience bruising at the injection sites, you can treat them with a topical arnica cream.

Brotox- The most popular treated parts for men

Ρυτίδες Μετώπου σε Άντρες

Forehead wrinkles are horizontal wrinkles that form along the forehead, as a result of repeated muscle contractions, such as raising the eyebrows in moments of surprise. Men are more prone to develop forehead wrinkles, as their skin is thicker and their muscle contractions are stronger than women.

Forehead wrinkles can appear as one, two, three or more lines and can extend from one edge of the forehead to the other. Over time, these wrinkles can deepen and become permanent, if you don’t start Brotox early.

Frown wrinkles are vertical wrinkles that form between the eyebrows, as a result of frowning or expressions of anger. Frown wrinkles can also be caused by habits such as squinting or half-closing the eyes constantly. They are commonly seen on the faces of middle-aged individuals, such as coaches, who tend to frown or express anger intensely.

They start as small and thin lines, but over time they deepen and extend towards the forehead, forming the number "11". The lines can intersect with the horizontal wrinkles of the forehead and treatments such as Brotox can help to reduce the appearance of frown wrinkles and prevent them from deepening over time.

Eye Wrinkles (known as Crow’s Feet)

Eye wrinkles are wrinkles that form around the eyes, which are caused by repeated facial expressions, such as laughing. The skin around the eyes is much thinner compared to other parts of the face and body, which makes it more prone to wrinkles. Eye wrinkles initially appear as radial lines, at the outer corners of the eyes, resembling the "crow's feet" and over time, these wrinkles can deepen and become permanent. Treatments such as Brotox can help to reduce the appearance of eye wrinkles and prevent them from deepening in the future.

Nose Wrinkles (Bunny Lines)

These are the wrinkles that form on the sides of the nose, when we smile or laugh and they are called that, because they resemble the folds on the nose of rabbits. A few units of Botox is commonly used to treat bunny lines, by relaxing the muscles in the area and thus reducing the appearance of the wrinkles.

Mouth Wrinkles (Sadness Wrinkles)

Mouth wrinkles are wrinkles that form around the mouth, as a result of repeated facial expressions such as smiling, talking, eating and smoking. They appear as brackets around the mouth from laughter, vertical fine lines at the corners of the mouth from sadness or vertical lines around the lips from smoking. Brotox can help to reduce the appearance of these wrinkles and restore a more youthful appearance to the area around the mouth. Additionally, it can also help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the chin, commonly referred to as a "peau d’orange chin".

These refer to the excessive gingival (gum) display during smiling. This can occur due to various factors such as genetics, lip incompetence and overactive elevator muscles of the upper lip. Botox relaxes the responsible muscles, leading to a smoother and nicer smile, without gums showing.

Chin Wrinkles (known as Peau d’Orange)

Botox can be used to treat "Peau d'orange" on the chin. "Peau d'orange" is a French term that describes the appearance of dimpled or orange-peel like skin on the chin. The appearance of "Peau d'orange" on the chin can be improved by injecting Botox into the chin muscles that are responsible for creating the dimpled appearance. The Botox relaxes these muscles, leading to a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Neck Wrinkles (known as Nefertiti Neck Lift)

Botox can correct the "strings" that start under the chin and extend vertically towards the neck, which are called platysma bands. A few units of botox in the neck muscular area are enough to soften both vertical and horizontal wrinkles in this area, while it also prevents sagging of the skin of the neck.

Botox vs Brotox

Botox vs Brotox

Men and women have different facial anatomy, which means that the approach to aesthetic treatments should be tailored in a different way between them. The ideal treatment plan for a man will depend on various factors, such as the extent and location of wrinkles, his skin type and his personal preferences.

A qualified Doctor should take these factors into consideration, when developing a personalised treatment plan to achieve optimal results. Additionally, it's important for the Doctor to have a thorough understanding of male anatomy to ensure that the procedure is performed safely and effectively.

Dosage: The male face has more prominent muscles, which contract more intensely, so we need a larger dosage of Brotox to relax them and get the desired effect.
Injection Sites: The male face is typically characterised by a wide, broad forehead and open temples, which can result in specific injection patterns, which we take into account in our treatment plan, for a complete and natural result.
Angle of Eyebrows: Botox can be used to achieve a slight brow lift, by relaxing the muscles that pull down on the eyebrows. While this may be a desired effect for some women, it is generally not recommended for men, as it can result in a feminised appearance. In general, the aim of Brotox treatment in men is to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, while maintaining a natural, masculine appearance.

Myths & Truths about Brotox

Myth: Brotox is painful

Truth: Brotox injections can cause some discomfort, but the procedure is generally considered to be relatively pain-free. The needles used are very fine and the injections themselves only take a few seconds. Some people may experience slight discomfort or a stinging sensation during the procedure, but this usually fades quickly. Anaesthetic creams can be used to numb the skin before the injections and many patients find that this helps to reduce any discomfort.

After the procedure, there may be some redness or swelling at the injection sites, but this should resolve quickly. Overall, most people find the procedure to be very tolerable and well worth it for the benefits it provides.

Myth: Only women do Botox

Truth: The myth that only women undergo Botox treatments is a common stereotype, but it is far from the truth. Botox is a versatile treatment that can be used to address dynamic wrinkles on both men and women. In fact, many men choose Brotox because of the deeper and more noticeable expression wrinkles that often occur, due to the stronger contraction of facial muscles in men. The aim of Brotox is to smooth out wrinkles, while maintaining the expressiveness of the face, resulting in a more youthful and rested appearance.

Myth: Brotox alters facial features

Truth: The myth that Brotox alters facial features is a common misconception, but it is not true. Brotox is designed to target specific muscles that are responsible for dynamic wrinkles, such as expression lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the mouth and eyes. The goal of the treatment is to relax these muscles, so that they do not contract as strongly, during facial expressions, resulting in smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.

Brotox does not alter the expressiveness of the face or its features, when it is done correctly. It's important to choose a qualified practitioner who has a thorough understanding of male anatomy and the specific ageing patterns of the male face to ensure that the final result is both safe and satisfactory.

Myth: Brotox is giving a "Frozen Look"

Truth: The myth that Brotox gives you a "frozen" look is a common misconception, but it is not true. Brotox is designed to relax specific facial muscles that are responsible for dynamic wrinkles, such as expression lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the mouth, and eyes. The goal of the treatment is to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, while maintaining the natural look and expressiveness of the face.

When performed by a qualified practitioner, Brotox should not result in a "frozen" appearance. A qualified practitioner will use the right amount of Brotox units to achieve the desired result, taking into account the individual's age, gender, skin type and facial anatomy. The aim is to enhance the natural appearance, by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, not to create a rigid, expressionless face.

Frequently Asked Questions

Botox treatment has no recovery time and most people are able to return to their normal activities, immediately after the procedure. However, there may be some mild side effects such as redness, swelling and bruises at the injection sites, which typically resolve within a few hours to a few days. To minimise the risk of side effects and ensure a smooth recovery, it's important to follow your Doctor’s post-procedure instructions carefully.

As an injectable treatment, the Βotox can cause some discomfort, but the needles used to administer it are so fine that the discomfort is actually very mild and tolerable. On a pain scale of 1 to 10, most people rate it a "1 or 2." However, if you wish, the Doctor can numb the area 10-20 minutes before the treatment by applying an anaesthetic cream topically.

One of the great advantages of Brotox treatment is that the result is visible very quickly. The effects of Brotox can typically be seen within 5-7 days after the treatment and the final result is usually achieved within two weeks. The skin looks smoother and more youthful, as the wrinkles are reduced. The results of Botox typically last for 4-6 months, after which another treatment may be needed to maintain the desired results. The experience and technique of the practitioner plays a crucial role in the duration and quality of the results. An experienced practitioner will be able to properly inject the Botox, in the right places for optimal results. When Botox is applied correctly, the satisfaction rate exceeds 97%!
As the body metabolises the active substance of Botox, its action weakens, the muscles slowly regain their mobility and your face returns to its pre-treatment state. However, you can maintain the effect of Brotox, by repeating the treatment at regular intervals. On average, 2-3 treatments per year are sufficient.

When the Brotox treatment is applied by an experienced Doctor, then it is completely safe. Only some mild and transient side effects may occur, such as pain, swelling or even bruising at the injection sites. These are transient side effects that subside after a few days and you don’t need to worry.

Muscle weakness or drooping near the injection site, are rare side effects that can sometimes happen, especially when someone exceeds with the dosage. It's important to choose a qualified practitioner, who has the training and experience to perform Brotox injections safely and effectively. A qualified practitioner will take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of side effects and ensure that you are fully informed of any potential risks before undergoing the treatment.

Allergies: People who are allergic to any component of the Botox formulation should not receive the treatment.

Neuromuscular disorders: People with certain neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome should not receive Botox.

Infections: People with skin infections at injection sites should not receive Botox until the infection has healed.

Bleeding disorders: People with bleeding disorders or those taking blood-thinning medications should avoid Botox, as it increases the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection sites.

Previous Botox reaction: People who have previously had an adverse reaction to Botox should not receive the treatment again.

It's important to discuss your medical history, current health status and any concerns with your practitioner to determine if Brotox is safe and appropriate for you.

Yes. The use of Brotox as a wrinkle prevention treatment by younger patients has been steadily increasing in recent years. The active substance of Botox limits muscle contractions, which are responsible in the long term for causing static wrinkles. Starting Brotox at a young age, for example after 30 years of age and having it regularly will weaken the muscles of the face, by training them not to contract as strongly.

A well-done Brotox treatment should result in a more refreshed and youthful appearance and it's possible that your friends may attribute this change to a period of rest or reduced stress.

However, the goal of Brotox is not to create a dramatic change in your appearance, but to smooth out wrinkles and enhance your natural features, so that you look like a younger and more rested version of yourself. If the treatment is done correctly and by a qualified practitioner, it should not produce an unnatural or "frozen" appearance.
