3D Contouring is a cosmetic procedure with hyaluronic acid fillers which is designed to lift, define, contour and enhance the natural features of the face and provide a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. The areas of the face that we can inject are the chin, the angles of the jawline and the zygomatic arch (higher cheekbones).
In our Clinics we treat the full face three dimensionally, enhancing and creating light and shade to the face, to balance facial features and improve your profile, whilst enhancing your natural beauty. Our signature approach and philosophy has always been Less-is-More.
A young and attractive face is characterized by angles. Over time, these characteristics are altered, as the bone mass decreases and the collagen and elastin of the skin is also reduced. For these reasons, hyaluronic acid is injected in these areas to restore lost volumes or even emphasize these areas, thus achieving a sharper jawline, more upright cheekbones and a well-shaped chin.
For 3D Contouring we use the thicker hyaluronic acid of highest density and for this reason the duration of the result varies from 12 to 18 months.
Do you want to enhance your chin for a more defined and masculine look? Over time, the natural ageing process can cause the chin, as well as the angles of a man’s face, to lose their definition.
The 3D Contouring treatment which is based on hyaluronic acid fillers offers an excellent non-surgical solution to redefine the chin and facial angles, restoring balance, harmony and masculinity to the male face.
In Derm & Plastic Surgery Clinics we are proud of using only the highest quality hyaluronic acid fillers which last up to 2 years to achieve optimal results.
These hyaluronic fillers hydrate and volumize the tissues, making them ideal for 3D jawline and chin contouring in men.
The cost of 3D Contouring treatment depends on the quantity (mls) of the product, which will be necessary for each individual. When someone hasn’t had a similar procedure in the past and we start the treatment together, then it is not realistic to start this facial enhancement with less than 2 syringes of filler, which is the minimum amount required.
The final cost of your personalized treatment will be known to you, at the end of your consultation with our qualified Doctors.
Quite often people come to our Clinics who have done this application in non-medical places or with non-qualified Doctors, who use inferior materials, at a cheap cost of 120 and 150 euros, telling us that their application lasted only 1 month or that the material "spread" so much in the area, that it was as if they did nothing. And then they had to pay again for the application to be done correctly with good materials, which last and give the right results. We all know very well that "What you pay for, you get" and this also applies to Aesthetic Medicine, that's why you should always choose based on the qualifications of the Doctors and their results and not on whether you will find it cheaper in a Beauty Center or not .
First, there is always a medical consultation with our Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists about your needs and wishes. If you have had a similar treatment in the past, let them know when that was, as well as the type of filler and the areas where it was applied, as not all the fillers interact well with each other. After checking your skin type and the needs of your face, the Doctors inform you about the fillers that you can use, in order to have your desired results and according to that, they design your personalised treatment plan.
Preparation for 3D Contouring begins with thorough cleansing of the skin and antisepsis. Then, on clean skin, an anaesthetic cream is applied, so that any discomfort is reduced to minimum, during the filler’s application.
In this step, the anaesthetic cream is removed and the Doctor is marking the exact points on your face, where the filler injections will be done. Immediately after that, the actual treatment starts.
The Doctor records in your medical file the facial zones that were treated and the mls of filler used per area and then gives you detailed instructions for the following days, after the treatment. Then your appointment is rescheduled, after about 15 days, when the full effect of the treatment will be visible, in order to assess whether certain parts of the face need touch ups.
Avoid taking anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. Mesulid, Brufen, Voltaren) and analgesics (e.g. aspirin) for at least a week before the treatment, as they increase the possibility of bleeding and therefore bruising during the treatment.
Also avoid taking vitamins and multivitamin tablets, as these are substances that increase the bleeding tendency and consequently the risk of bruising.
It would be best not to consume alcohol, 24 hours before your treatment.
Do not perform the treatment 1-2 days before an important event for you, because bruising or swelling might happen at the injection areas. It is better to schedule it one week in advance.
Before your treatment, the area of your face should be clean and without make-up.
You can return to your daily activities immediately, as long as you do not put pressure or touch the area where the filler was injected, for at least the first 2 days.
It is best to avoid vigorous aerobic exercise for at least the first 2 days.
Try to avoid excessive sun exposure for the first 2 days.
Avoid alcohol and aspirin for 2 days after your treatment.
If you experience bruising at the injection sites, you can treat them with topical arnica cream.
3D Contouring is one of Derm & Plastic Surgery Clinics Signature and Awarded treatments. It is a non-surgical treatment that uses hyaluronic acid fillers to lift, define and contour the temples, cheeks, chin, nose and jawline.
Because 3D Contouring treatment is very popular, there is a lot of information about this treatment on the Internet. But what is true and what is false? We answer some of these queries, in this section underneath
Truth: 3D Contouring is now more affordable and accessible to a wider range of people, not just celebrities and rich people. The cost of the treatment varies, depending on the type of filler used and the quantity of mls. In our Clinics we strongly believe that cosmetic procedures should be affordable for everyone and therefore we have created medical protocols to achieve this facial enhancement gradually and in an efficient way for all.
Truth: The result is totally reversible and in case you don’t like it, we can dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is a natural enzyme that can break down hyaluronic acid. When used as a treatment, it's injected into the area, where the filler has been placed, in order to dissolve it.
Truth: A skilled injector will use just the right amount of filler to achieve a natural-looking result. They will take into consideration your facial shape, skin texture and other factors to create a look that is harmonious and balanced.
No, not at all. Hyaluronic acid injections may cause mild, though tolerable discomfort. If desired, topical anaesthetic cream may be applied prior to treatment to completely numb the area.
Hyaluronic acid is a non-invasive treatment, whose results are visible immediately after the application! You won't have to wait to see the results and once the treatment is complete, you will be able to see your result in the mirror!
The average duration of a hard and thick filler, like the ones that are used for 3D Contouring is 12 -18 months. As soon as you see that the effect begins to diminish (usually after 1 year), then it is time to repeat the treatment. Remember that the duration of each filler depends on three main factors: the type of filler, the area of application and the metabolism rate of fillers that each individual has.
Yes, 3D Contouring is allowed, as it is done with hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of our body and is completely biocompatible with our body. So if everything with your pregnancy goes well and there are no restrictions by your Gynecologist, then you can have this treatment.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are one of the most commonly used cosmetic treatments for the face. When applied by an experienced Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon, there is no risk involved. Symptoms such as swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness of the area may occur, but are mild and transient.
