Laser Hair Removal is the easiest and most affordable way to get smooth and soft skin, without shaving every 3 - 4 days. Imagine if your legs, bikini and underarms could stay as smooth as the first day that you shaved. This is exactly what Laser Hair Removal, offers you after a few sessions, without having folliculitis, ingrowning hairs and any other possible irritations in the meantime.
With Laser Alexandrite you will forget the pain and discomfort of other hair removal methods, such as razors, waxing, tweezers and epilators.
It is really the best money investment you could ever make for yourself, because in the long term it will save you both money and time.
The 7th generation Laser Alexandrite, is based on the theory of selective photothermolysis. What does this practically mean? The Alexandrite Laser aims, recognizes and "binds" only with melanin, which is the hair’s black color. So the darker your hair is, the more effective the Laser will be.
Hair in the ears, in the nostrils of the nose or between the eyebrows and hair growth on the shoulders and back are some of the points that Laser Hair Removal for Men effectively treats. Nowadays, more and more men choose permanent Laser Hair Removal, to get rid of hair growth permanently and effectively.
The laser can be applied to any area of the body and requires no recovery time, as you immediately return to your activities the same day. In Derm & Plastic Surgery Clinics, hair removal is done with the advanced 7th generation Alexandrite Laser , so you won't have to stop your sessions during the summer season, when you are tanned.

There are three types of Laser Hair Removal and these are the Alexandrite Laser, the Nd-YAG Laser and the Diode Laser. IPL is not a Laser, but photolysis and you should take that into consideration when some beauticians are trying to present IPL as a Laser for hair removal.
In Derm & Plastic Surgery Clinics, in Athens and Glyfada , we own the best Laser Hair Removal medical devices. We have both the state-of-the-art 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite and the powerful Nd-YAG Laser. So we can practically treat all skin phototypes (including phototypes IV, V), tanned skin and ethnic skin.
Laser Alexandrite Hair Removal is the most popular hair removal method and of course the Gold Standard worldwide. It emits at 755 nm and the results it offers are the best and most permanent, compared to other Laser methods. It is suitable for all areas, both on body and on face, while the 7th Generation Alexandrite, (which you will find exclusively in our Clinics), is even recommended for tanned skin in the summer, unlike the older Alexandrite Laser Devices which are contraindicated in tanned skin.
The Nd-YAG Hair Removal Laser emits at 1064 nm and can be safely applied both to darker phototypes (IV and V) and tanned skin.
One of the most frequent questions you ask us is how you will know if they are really giving you an Alexandrite Laser or if they are just presenting you the IPL photolysis or the Diode Laser as a Laser Alexandrite, since all these devices emit red light and may deceive you.
If they apply gel to the areas of the skin where the application will be made, then they are giving you photolysis or diode laser and NOT Alexandrite.
In the Alexandrite Laser, the device works with cold air (Air Cool) or with a cryogenic coolant that sprays a special coolant directly on the skin, so in the original Alexandrite you will never have gel applied for the treatment..
Medical studies have shown that Laser Hair Removal is ultimately the most affordable hair removal solution. For instance, let's analyze the cost of razors. The average price for a simple pack of razors ranges from €3.50 to €7.00, depending on their quality. Someone would spend that amount on razors monthly, thus making the total amount spent from €40 a year for the cheapest razors to €80 for better quality razors.
Now, let's sum up this yearly cost for a whole lifetime (with an average of 50 to 60 years), assuming that a woman starts shaving approximately at 14 years of age. Then the final amount spent on razors over a lifetime is 2000-4000 euros, plus the time waste for the procedure of shaving. So, in the question of what is preferable in terms of cost between Laser or Razor, the answer is pretty obvious.
The first step is the medical consultation, in which our Doctors will carefully examine your skin, will check your phototype, they will set the intensity of the laser energy for your first session and they will see if there are any moles that need to be protected.
The 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite is the fastest Laser in the market and has the larger spots. It scans even large areas of the body, such as the legs, in a very short time.
Besides being faster, the 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite is also the most effective. And this is because it penetrates deeply, having the ability to reach its energy to the hair follicle and thus being able to destroy the hair root, so that the hair will not grow again.
The 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite device is from America and is FDA approved, with the highest safety standards.
As claimed by millions of people that use it worldwide, the 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite treatment is pain-free, as this laser device has a built-in skin protective mechanism.
Another excellent characteristic is the unique cooling protection mechanism with cold air that this laser has, which is used to numb the area locally, during the application of the Laser. The burning sensation, which accompanies the thermal energy of the Laser, is significantly reduced that way and the treatment is completely tolerable.
You can immediately return to your daily activities, directly after the end of your session, without the slightest discomfort.
The first step is the medical consultation, in which our Doctors will carefully examine your skin, will check your phototype, they will set the intensity of the laser energy for your first session and they will see if there are any moles that need to be protected.
In the second step, you remove any clothing or jewelry at the treatment area and you put on protective glasses. These glasses protect your eyes from the Laser and are always necessary, regardless of whether the treatment is applied to the face or the body.
The qualified medical staff cleans and disinfects the area where the treatment will be applied and with a white marking pencil draws a targeting grid on the skin, which helps to fully scan the area with the Laser.
At the beginning of the treatment, the Doctor proceeds with a trial application in a small area, in order to customize all the parameters of the Laser application and the ideal settings, based on your skin’s phototype and the degree of hair growth present on your body. This procedure ensures the safety of your Laser Hair Removal with us and the excellent results you will get.
Once the Laser has already been properly adjusted by the Doctor, the qualified medical staff takes over to scan all the treatment areas and the application of Laser Hair Removal begins.
When the treatment is completed, a soothing moisturizer is applied on the areas and then you are ready to return to your daily activities. Before you leave the Clinic, make sure you have all the post Laser instructions and schedule your next appointment, which should be done in about 30 days.
It is important not to use other hair removal methods (like waxing, tweezers, threading or depilatory devices), 1-4 weeks before your session, in the areas you are going to have Laser, as then you totally remove the hair follicle with these methods and the Laser will have nothing to target.
You should always come to your sessions shaved, in the areas where you are going to have Laser. Therefore you should shave 2-3 days before each session, so that the body hair on the day of your appointment will have a maximum length of 2-3 millimeters (this only applies to the body hair and not to the face). On the face, you should not have done anything to these hair at all, before your appointment.
On the day of your session, you should avoid using strong deodorant or perfume on the treatment areas to avoid the risk of skin irritations.
Before your session, the area of the body or face that you will have the laser treatment on, must be clean and without make-up.
Regarding hair removal in the sensitive genital area, especially during the first sessions and until the bikini hair has thinned out, we advise you to apply local anesthetic cream, at least 30 minutes before the appointment, to numb the area and reduce the possibility of slight discomfort during the application of the Laser.
If you are taking medication, which induce photosensitivity such as tetracyclines and isotretinoin, you should let us know. The same should be done if you have a history of cold sores, as Laser Hair Removal on the face could possibly activate your Herpes (Cold Sores).
If you start Laser Hair Removal, it is advisable to avoid sunbathing and Solarium, because your body will start to get tanned and the Laser treatment will not be as effective, as on whiter skin.
Immediately after Laser hair removal, there will be mild redness on the treated areas and perhaps perifollicular swelling, with a mild burning sensation, as if from sun irritation. These symptoms are normal and usually last for a few hours (they can last from 2 hours to 24 hours).
Hydration is very important after your Laser and you should moisturize the Laser areas daily with a moisturizing cream (at least twice a day) for a week.
Especially for the face and for any other area exposed to the sun (e.g. lower legs / hands) you should apply sunscreen, on top of your moisturizer for 1 week. We advise you to avoid prolonged sun exposure (tanning / solarium) for 1 week after your session.
In the first days, it is advisable to avoid friction or intense peeling in the areas where the Laser was applied, as well as synthetic, tight clothes that cause friction, in order to avoid skin irritations.
If the Laser has been applied in the armpit area, it would be advisable to avoid using deodorant for 24 hours.
It is advisable to avoid using hot water in your shower or sauna services for the first 48 hours. Use lukewarm water and moisturize your skin immediately afterwards with a body moisturizer.
Do not use any other hair removal method in between your laser sessions.
To get better and faster results with the Laser, we also recommend not shaving between your sessions, as this can lead to hair re- growth. However, if there is a special occasion that requires you to shave between your sessions, you can shave, as long as it is not done frequently and systematically.
The burnt hairs, as they are being expelled from the hair follicle, will be seen in the next 7 - 14 days as black "spots" on the surface of the skin. These hairs will fall out on their own and you should not bother them and irritate your skin. If you want to speed up the process of their fall, you can use a body scrub or use a loofah sponge in your bathroom.
Every year during the summer, you have many questions regarding your tanned skin and the procedure of Laser Hair Removal. Those who haven't started Laser yet and want to start in the summer, when their sunbathing also start, wonder if they can do Laser.
Those who have already started the Laser, wonder if they can continue it normally in the summer months on tanned skin or should they wait to restart the process from September or even October, when their tan will be gone. And these questions are reasonable, as there is a very widespread perception that Laser is prohibited in the summer. And this is due to the devices that most of the centers have, which are of older technology..
But the truth is that technology evolves, data changes and we need to stay in touch with the evolution if we want to be up-to-date and provide the best to our customers. Laser devices that are available today, did not exist in the past. It is a fact that everything depends on the equipment available in the place where you choose to do your hair removals treatments. The device that actually allows effective and safe Laser Hair Removal in the Summer and on tanned skin is the 7th generation Alexandrite. That’s why we have invested on that laser technology, to be certain that in our Clinics, our clients will not be forced to stop their planned treatments. Or even settle for solutions that do not satisfy them to an absolute extent.
Unfortunately, however, a phenomenon is often observed that shakes the solvency of many places in this regard. There are quite a few who claim to have a 7th generation Alexandrite machine, but actually have a less advanced and earlier generation machine. This, of course, will be immediately visible in your skin and hair removal results. But why go through all this process and have to "go to learn" when you can be sure of your choice from the start? In our Clinics, we have this machine guaranteed, which you can verify very easily by booking a free informative assessment appointment, where you will be fully informed about the Laser process and the price of the medical hair removal protocol that will be made for your case.
One of the most popular areas of application of Laser hair removal, throughout the year, is the bikini area. This is an area which, as its name suggests, is quite sensitive and needs attention, even when choosing a hair removal method.
For this reason, hair removal with other common methods (razors, creams, waxing and hair depilatory devices), apart from being time-consuming, is a pointless process, since it does not deal with the problem at its root and the hair grow back after a few days. Moreover, there is always the risk with these methods of having folliculitis, infections and ingrowning hair into the skin. That’s why Laser hair removal with Alexandrite, is now the gold standard, since it is the only method of permanent hair removal.
Regarding hair removal in the sensitive genital area, especially during the first few sessions and until the bikini hair has thinned out, we advise you to apply local anesthetic cream at least 30 minutes before the appointment, to numb the area and reduce the possibility of discomfort during the application of Laser.
Laser Alexandrite is the best method to deal with unwanted hair growth on the face and this is because, in addition to the significantly smaller number of sessions you will need, it is also the hair removal method that, if it is done correctly, with a state-of-the-art device and the right laser settings, will protect you from the phenomenon of reactive hypertrichosis. Reactive hypertrichosis is the appearance of normal hair growth, in areas where there was only fuzz before and it is a condition that, if it occurs, is not easily treatable.
Reactive hypertrichosis occurs, when older or inappropriate devices are used for your laser treatments or if your treatments are done with incorrect laser parameters, which do not have the power to permanently destroy the hair follicle and all they do is temporarily weaken the hair growth, which after some sessions grows stronger. "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger", people say and this is also true for a wrong application of Laser.
In our Clinics in Athens and Glyfada, you will exclusively find the high tech 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite the world's best Laser. Meet the Derm & Plastic Way of Luxury Life Our main principle regarding Laser Hair Removal is that its not only a medical treatment, but also a premium aesthetic treatment that should take place in luxurious rooms, with state-of-the-art medical devices and most importantly in a safe area, ensuring the quality of the services provided to you.
Because it is important for us our clients to feel good and be treated in beautiful and luxurious places and not to have hair removal in tiny cabins, without ventilation and with dubious hygiene conditions and regular checks of the quality of the services provided.

To choose medical facilities with branded, FDA-approved devices, to ensure the safety of your treatments. In Beauty Salons you will usually find IPL photolysis and Diode Laser and there will be no supervision by a Doctor during the procedure.
To choose medical facilities that do a medical consultation first, treat Laser Hair Removal as a Medical Procedure and at the end of each session fill in your medical records, with the settings used during the treatment, so they can be able to adjust and modify the treatment, depending on your response.
To choose medical facilities where the application is done only by experienced and specialized medical staff and not by unqualified operators who do not have a license to practice. We raise your attention to this, as such centers are labeled as "Medical Beauty Salons" and operate without any license, with unqualified operators who actually practice on you. Always look at Google reviews (and especially those from real people's profiles) to see what experience they had in that place. Do not trust your face and body to illegal places and unqualified staff.
Do not be cheated and tempted by the low prices and offers you may find on Social Media and the Internet, for your hair removal. The price per session may seem very low and tempting, but the session is done with unsuitable or old equipment or with low intensity by unqualified staff, in areas of dubious hygiene and safety and in the end you get no results at all or even worse, you get reactive hair growth or burns. Cheapest is never the best and if someone tries to convince you to do a Full Body Laser for 80 or 100 euros when the average market price is twice that, i.e. 150 - 200 euros, they are certainly not doing it to help you, but to take advantage of you financially in the short term.
The price of a Laser Hair Removal session in our Clinics starts from 10 euros, for the smallest areas of the face (such as the upper lip and chin) and body (such as the nipples and fingers) and increases depending on the extent of each area. Our philosophy focuses on quality customer service and the value for money service we offer is excellent.
We do not have a philosophy of cheap prices with low quality, but a philosophy of affordable prices with excellent quality. This is why we have created combined protocols and Special Laser Hair Removal Offers for those interested in removing hair from several areas of the face and body, reducing the total cost even more.
You can ask us for a free evaluation appointment so we can check your needs together and choose the hair removal protocol that suits you. We advise you not to be easily persuaded by the very low prices and offers that you may find on Social Media, as these are not accompanied by a corresponding quality service.
Truth: Aging can certainly increase the risk of developing Spider Veins, but even younger people can develop the same problem, especially those with a family history of this condition or a lot of sun exposure.
The main difference between the two methods is that IPL hair removal uses a wide range of light with a wavelength of 500 - 1200nm, while Alexandrite Laser hair removal emits only one specific wavelength, which is 755nm. IPL is a device that produces common light and therefore cannot focus it into a narrow beam. That results in weak efficacy and it is not being able to reach the depth of the hair follicle to destroy it. Basically it doesn’t treat unwanted hair growth, as real Laser does and that’s why many more sessions are needed.
Also, the IPL device causes general destruction, as most of the IPL energy is absorbed by smaller, more superficial targets of the skin, while the Laser causes selective destruction, located only at the root of the hair. Therefore the IPL in order to be able to heat deeper targets, uses higher energy levels, thus increasing the risk of burns and other side effects, such as hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, etc. Instead, the Laser acts with much greater precision and extreme safety, as it is capable of selectively hitting its target, leaving the surrounding areas intact.
Truth: Home hair removal devices (even if they are marketed as lasers) are not at all lasers. These devices are IPL photolysis devices (Intense Pulsed Light) and like all devices intended for domestic and non-professional use, they have much lower intensity for the safety and consumers’ protection. So by definition they are weaker than the professional IPL devices you will find in professional practices and beauty salons.
These home devices can not really be compared with the Laser devices in the medical field. Firstly, these devices emit low energy which is not capable of reaching the depth of the hair follicle and destroying it. Secondly they are not focused only on the hair follicle, which results in not only heating the hair, but also the whole skin in the surrounding areas. Consequently, they are of low effectiveness and with an increased possibility of causing irritations, burns, hyperpigmentation and scars, especially on dark skins.
Truth: The myth that laser hair removal treatment can cause cancer is completely false and there is no medical research to support it. The Laser is a beam of non-ionizing radiation, which is not considered harmful, unlike ionizing radiation that causes DNA mutations. The Alexandrite Laser is a beam of light that targets only the melanin in the hair and not the skin, glands and internal organs. Laser Hair Removal has no effect on skin structures that do not have melanin, such as the lymph nodes, the breast and the genitals.
Truth: The fear of many that Laser Hair Removal in the armpit and bikini area will affect the lymph nodes of these areas is also completely unrealistic, as the energy of the Laser is only absorbed by melanin and not by structures that do not have melanin, such as lymph nodes. The only organ that should actually be protected during the Laser are the eyes and that's why we always wear protective glasses during the laser.
The treatment is painless and easily tolerated, by almost everyone undergoing Laser Hair Removal treatment with us. This is due, among other things, to the special cooling system with cold air of the 7th Generation Laser Alexandrite.
However, in people who have hypersensitivity in pain and in specific anatomic areas, such as the bikini area, an anaesthetic cream may be used before the Laser treatment.
Although this varies from person to person, depending on their skin phototype, hair density and their hormonal profile, we would say that the worldwide average with Laser Alexandrite for someone to have a good response and enter the maintenance phase is 10 - 14 sessions But someone will wonder why not all hairs don’t fall down with just one session? That’s because only the hairs that are in the anagen phase are permanently destroyed, each time a session takes place, while the rest grow back.
After each Laser session, all visible hairs on the surface of the skin will fall. However, only those of them that were in the growth phase (in the anagen phase) will be permanently destroyed and will not come out again.while the rest will come out again in about 4 weeks’ time. That’s why several sessions are required (10-14 on average), until the Laser reaches all the hairs in this particular phase of their life cycle and destroys them permanently.
Sometimes, in their attempt to sell, Beauty Salons or even medical practices promise permanent reduction in hair growth in just 3-6 sessions. Even with the 7th generation Laser Alexandrite, which is the hair removal’s gold standard, the needed sessions are over 6. For these reasons, you should be very careful to whom you should trust your body, so they don’t cheat you.
In order to understand the answer to this question, you should know the life phases of hair. In each hair we distinguish 3 phases during its life: anagen, telogen and catagen. Of course, not all hairs that are visible on the surface of the skin are in the same phase of their cycle, at the same time. The anagen phase is the phase when the hair regenerates, emerges from the hair follicle and begins to be visible on the surface of the skin. This anagen phase lasts about 3 to 5 weeks. In this phase, the hair has the highest melanin concentration and since the Laser targets the melanin of the hair, for this reason the Laser permanently destroys the hairs in the anagen phase. That’s why your next Laser session should be done every 3 - 5 weeks, in order for the hairs to be in the anagen phase and for the Laser to have the maximum possible effectiveness.
Practically, the treatment must be repeated every 30 days or at the latest every 40 days and not every 15 days, as you have been told by Beauty Salons, where you can find cheap and non-medical Lasers or IPL - Photolysis. . and not every 15 days, as you have been told by Beauty Salons, The reason they ask you to go every 15 days is because their inappropriate or old devices do not have the power to reach the energy within the hair follicle, in order for the hair to be permanently destroyed and fall down.
No, this is not necessary when you use new, advanced and professional Laser devices. Repeating your session every 15 days is something that you hear mostly in Beauty Salons with IPL devices or in Medical Practices with old or inappropriate devices. The only thing that these devices will do is to weaken just the visible part of the hair shaft (which is on the surface of the skin), without destroying the hair follicle, which is inside the skin and therefore hair will grow back again.
That's why they ask you to go back there in 15 days, because the hairs that were hit were not destroyed. Even in this repeated session in 15 days, only the visible part of the hair will be hitted again and not the follicle, as these devices do not have the power to penetrate deeper. In reality, they "hit" again the same hairs that were not destroyed and because of this, their inner hair shaft has come to the surface again. This process is being continued without the hair, actually, falling down. And sometimes this whole process which doesn't really “kill” hairs activates hypertrichosis and hairs appear in areas where you didn't even have hair previously.
Hair begins to fall down 5 - 15 days after your session. As the burned hairs are expelled from the hair follicle, they will appear as black "spots" within the skin. These hairs will fall down on their own and you should not pull them, as you will irritate your skin. If you want to speed up the process of their fall, you can use a body scrub or use a loofah in your bathroom.
However, you should be aware that during this period, the damaged and burned hair will fall down and new hairs will begin to appear on the surface of the skin that were not there before and were not visible on the surface of the skin, on the day of your Laser session. These are new hairs, slowly emerging upwards and will be hitted with the Laser at your next session in 30 days. That’s why it is very important to be consistent in your appointments and not to miss your sessions.
In order to get better and faster results with the Laser, shaving is not recommended between your sessions, as this can lead to hair re-growth. However, if there is a special occasion that requires you to shave between your sessions, you can shave, as long as it is not done frequently and systematically.
We advise you not to use other hair removal methods between your sessions and especially tweezers or waxing, as these methods remove completely the hair follicle and there is no target left for the Laser in that case.
On the body, if it is absolutely necessary to remove the new hairs until your next session, we recommend the use of depilatory creams (like Veet Cream), while on the face we recommend trimming the facial hair with scissors.
Unfortunately, the answer is no. And there is a medical explanation for this. The Laser only targets hair’s melanin. In white and blonde hair there is an absence of melanin and therefore Laser will not be effective.
Laser Hair Removal is the most popular aesthetic treatment, with its demand in recent years to start from adolescence. Someone can start Laser Hair Removal both on the face and on the body from the age of 12 - 14 years and above, usually when menstruation begins for girls. The procedure is completely safe for the child and written consent of the parent is always required for starting the Laser at ages under 18.
In our Clinics the answer is YES, due to the state-of-the-art 7th generation Laser Alexandrite, which is suitable for tanned skin.
No tests are required before starting Laser Hair Removal, unless there is an indication of an underlying hormonal disorder. Our Dermatologists who will record your medical history during your first consultation, will decide whether tests should be done, for example for the presence of hormonal disorders, such as polycystic ovaries.
If you're a Solarium fanatic and you love tanned skin (even when it doesn't come from the natural process of sun tanning), you're most likely wondering if the Laser Hair Removal process can be combined with the use of sunbeds. The answer is Yes, if where you choose to go, they have a 7th Generation Alexandrite, as this laser device is the most modern laser and suitable for tanned skin.
The answer is NO. Lasers cannot distinguish hair pigment (melanin) from tattoo pigment. Practically that means that in the area of the tattoo, the energy of the Laser, instead of being absorbed by the melanin of the hair, will be absorbed by the pigment of the tattoo and this will discolor it.
According to medical studies, Laser Hair Removal during pregnancy is not contraindicated, as it poses no risk to the fetus. If a pregnant woman wishes to continue her Laser sessions, she can do so, after the consent of her Gynecologist, who is her primary physician.
It is rare for the Laser to cause side effects when it is done under the supervision of a Dermatologist, who has customized your treatment, based on your skin and its needs and the application is done by experienced qualified medical and nursing staff. That’s why you should prefer Medical Clinics for your Laser treatments and not beauty salons, where there is no medical supervision and control.
